Exploring Public Health & Wellness In East Asia

This travel PowerPoint attempts to explore how international travel relates to Good Health and Well-Being, focusing mainly on mental, cultural immersion, and holistic living through a look at a past journey to South Korea and a future trip to Japan.

I chose this topic because travel has been a transformative tool for my personal growth, stress reduction, and mental clarity. Experiencing the mindful daily pacing, deeply rooted community values, and exploration in South Korea taught me the importance of intentional rest and balance. Looking ahead to Japan, I am eager to examine how traditional philosophies like Bushido (loosely translated to “The Way Of The Warrior.”), and mindful arts like Shodo (type of calligraphy) contribute to longevity and psychological well-being. Connecting travel to well-being means recognizing that stepping outside our familiar environments is vital for resetting our minds, gaining fresh perspectives, and nurturing our overall quality of life.

To create this travel slide, I utilized PowerPoint for the visual storytelling and slide design, various images that I personally took and images from the Unsplash website. My Japanese language teacher Haruka-san was also an invaluable wealth of information for the future travel section.

Through making this project, I learned how to critically analyze personal travel experiences through a structured, thoughtful lens. I gained a appreciation for how different cultures prioritize wellness and integrating mindful habits and everyday routines. Travel truly does broaden the mind.
